Michelle Obama recently unveiled her official portrait at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Too bad for her, she was immediately humiliated as people noticed one huge problem — and it’s downright embarrassing.
The left is utterly obsessed with the Obama family. Of course, we already know that liberals will never condemn them over anything, but now, we’ve seen just how deep this biased infatuation runs after both Barack and Michelle Obama recently unveiled their official portraits.
Come to find out, the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery wanted to honor the former First Couple for Black History Month, and the Obamas recruited two artists to help do so. In the end, the chosen social justice warriors were directed to paint an official portrait that would be unveiled in February.
These are perhaps the most anticipated presidential portrait unveilings to date, due in large part to the artists the Obamas selected. The former president chose Kehinde Wiley, a Yale University-trained painter famous for his depiction of African-Americans posed in the style of Old Master paintings, regal, formal and filled with pops of color. Things went terribly wrong as the painting was unveiled — and the crowd’s reaction said it all. Just like that, the former First Lady was left humiliated as people immediately noticed one embarrassing detail. As can be seen, the portrait looks nothing like her.
As soon as the cloth dropped, members of the audience met the moment with both gasps and applause, according to The Daily Caller, and even a few chuckles could be heard, but those reactions were nothing. Before long, the image had made its way onto social media, where people had plenty to say about it.
Am I the only one who thinks it doesn’t look a thing like her?

Doesn’t really look like her.

But…But…it doesn’t look anything like her. Just saying.

Some people really ripped into the artist and portrait.
It doesn’t! They drew someone with much more white features. You can’t tell me that with every talented artist in the U.S. they couldn’t have found someone better at painting! Just wild!

Worst likeness ever. A portrait has one job, and this picture of some random woman doesn’t do that job

Even though Michelle was clearly thrown back at the time, it didn’t stop her from her usual stunts. Without hesitation, she decided to yet again make the event all about race.
“I’m also thinking about all the young people, particularly girls and girls of color, who in years ahead will come to this place and they will look up and they will see an image of someone who looks like them hanging on the wall of this great American institution,” the former First Lady said. Too bad for Michelle, it doesn’t look like her.

Even CNN admits that “realism” isn’t the artist’s strong suit, but that has only left people wondering why she was selected in the first place. After all, it’s a slap in the face to paint a famous black woman for an event recognizing black heritage during Black History Month only to enhance “white features,” as some put it, so much so that the person depicted is unrecognizable.
Maybe if liberals were more concerned with hiring the right person for the job instead of who they thought “deserved” it most based on whatever arbitrary guidelines they put forth, this embarrassment wouldn’t have happened. Instead of choosing someone with the skills to do the job needed, it seems this artist was chosen because she had the same views as the person doing the choosing, and this is the result — a poorly done job.
Similar situations will continue until the left realizes that handing things to people in life helps no one. If you want to get something, you should have to earn it. Clearly, this woman didn’t, and that’s exactly why she messed it up so bad.
