(VIDEO)Wounded Marine Completes Boston Marathon While Holding The American Flag

A truly inspirational story out of Massachusetts as a wounded marine completed the grueling 26 mile race, known as the Boston Marathon, with a prosthetic leg and while holding the American Flag.

Jose Luis Sanchez lost the lower part of his left leg while serving in Afghanistan in 2011.

Since that time, he has been an inspiration to others, and encouraging others with messages to not give up, to embrace and rise above their problems, and to drive themselves forward no matter what.

One of our favorites of Sanchez’s inspirational quotes appeared on his social media page. We’ve censored the obscenities, but have left the rest in tact:

“WTF, I RAN OVER A SQUIRREL THIS MORNING.
???? + ???? = ???? .
WHO DOES THAT? HE WAS CROSSING AND HALFWAY INTO HIS JOURNEY HE TURNED BACK AND BAM!! ???? KIDS HEARD THE THUMP. I WAS LIKE OH, “S**T!” THEY WERE LIKE, WHAT? I WAS LIKE, NOTHING. ????
__
????➡MORAL OF THE STORY IS. IF YOU COMMIT TO SOMETHING GO F*****G HARD AND NEVER TURN BACK EVEN IF YOUR SCARED ALONG THE JOURNEY. KEEP PUSHING FORWARD AND DON’T LOOK BACK RAH!!!!

DON’T BE THAT SQUIRREL YA!!!! F**K YA!!

The American Flag that Sanchez carried while running the marathon was unique as well as it contained inspirational quotes and well wishes from fellow soldiers.

Sanchez’s social media accounts are filled with positive messages, and thanks for being such an inspiration.

After the race, Sanchez posted a message to explain that he was not running the race for himself.

“HEY GUYS!!! JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE, SUPPORT, PRAYERS AND POSITIVE VIBES.
____
JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THIS IS NOT ABOUT ME. IT’S ABOUT WHAT THIS REPRESENTS.
IT’S FOR YOU ALL TO SEE HOW WE ALL IMPACT EACH OTHER FOR A GREATER GOOD.”
