After anti-Christian atheist gunman Devin Patrick Kelley gunned down innocent worshipers in a Texas church, a young woman rushed to her sister-in-law and the woman’s children to tragically discover their lifeless bodies. However, after taking a closer look, she spotted something in the blood-covered pew among the bodies that left her speechless.
Despite feckless liberals hastily turning their own latest shooting spree into a political campaign for gun control, other leftists have taken an even more despicable approach, mocking Christians and their thoughtful prayers for the victims’ grieving loved ones.
Instead of offering compassion, many spiteful progressives are taking cheap shots at uniting Christians, arguing that prayer does nothing in the wake of tragedy. Fortunately, millions of faithful Christians have ignored the left’s repugnant vitriol for earnest intercession with fellow believers — and it’s paid off in a breathtaking way.
Texas resident Leslie Ward just happens to live so close to the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs that she heard the gunfire mass murderer Kelley unleashed on peaceful congregants as the massacre unfolded. Knowing that her sister-in-law, Joann Ward, and her sister-in-law’s young children were attending the Sunday morning service, Leslie rushed over to the scene to discover her worst nightmare.
As she waded through the bodies, she was anguished to find her sister-in-law and nieces, 7-year-old Emily Garza and 5-year-old Brooke Ward, already dead. However, all hope was not lost when Leslie spotted what was next to them in between the crimson pews.
The New York Daily News reports that lying next to the slain bodies of her sister-in-law and nieces, Leslie found her nephew, 5-year-old Ryland Ward, clinging to live from critical injuries. The bloodied boy was gasping for air when Leslie picked up his frail body and comforted the dying child until emergency medical responders arrived.
Miraculously, Ryland managed to fight for his young life, undergoing emergency surgery for bullet wounds to his stomach, groin, and arm. He is now in stable condition at University Hospital in San Antonio.
“I found my nephew in the front, in pain,” she told The News. “It was bad. There was just dead bodies everywhere. It wasn’t what I wanted to see but at the time, I wasn’t worried about it. I was worried about finding my family.”
Ryland’s grateful relatives have praised his unexplainable survival but continue to grieve the loss of so many family members at once. Initially, no one believed he would survive the night, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper spoke to his uncle Michael Ward, who said he feared the worst for his nephew. “They got him all cut open, from the gunshots. I don’t think he’s going to make it,’” he said.
Ryland’s counsin, McKinley, wept as she added, “Ryland is the only one left.”
As soon as he was notified of the shooting, Ryland’s father Chris ran to the nearby church, foregoing putting on shoes out of sheer desperation. Upon arrival, he believed that only his eldest daughter, 9-year-old Rihanna, would survive as she had literally dodged a hail of bullets that shot her glasses off her face. Expectedly, it was bitter-sweet to discover that his young son had also managed to pull through his gruesome injuries.
Leslie remembered the Ward children as “good little kids. Now my brother-in-law is all alone. I just gotta be strong for him,” she said of Chris.
As soon as it was revealed that Kelley is the embodiment of the left, liberals everywhere began deflecting to blame everything but their own party’s hatred and bigotry. The 26-year-old was a felony convict who obtained firearms illegally, enjoyed far-left-leaning CNN, deeply despised Christians, and backed the violent Antifa movement against President Donald Trump and his supporters.
As the poster child for liberal politics, Kelley’s hatred of Christians grew so exponentially that the intolerant atheist decided to slaughter innocent worshipers at the same church his ex-wife’s family attended. Luckily, neither his ex nor his in-laws were present during the attack, although Kelley was more than satisfied with taking out Christians in general.
Despite the left’s pathetically predictable call for stricter gun regulations, Kelley did not have a license to carry firearms but still managed to purchase 4 weapons in total. Of course, no law could’ve stopped the hate-filled atheist from murdering Christians, as murder is already illegal.
Thanks to the left’s callous scoffing, we see the fundamental difference between Christian conservatives and demoralized liberals. When those on the right are brutalized, they don’t call for retaliation or attempt to take away the rights of others to defend themselves. Instead, the rally together to condemn such evil and support one another in the wake of tragedy.
