Two Of The Three Major Updates Were Confirmed… What’s The Third?

In recent interviews with John Hanke. He revealed there were going to be 4 Major updated this year. All spaced apart from the same length. Each major update would happen every 12 weeks. That’s three months apart from each other and allows Niantic to add 4 major updates in one year.

Legendaries are part of the four major updates. As we all know as well, the second generation was considered a major update. This means other generations will be large updates as well. Let’s not forget about the gym overhaul being another large update for Pokemon GO too.
That means 3 of the four major updates are already known. But what is the last large update of the year for Pokemon GO? Chances are it’s not breeding. It just doesn’t seem like it would be that large to consider it for one of these 12-week updates. It should be something a bit larger… maybe, no can’t be, can it?

How about the third generation?

Yes, it is possible that one of the large updates could be breeding, however, the last update lines up with generation 3 being released. It took a while for generation two to be released. However, Niantic had been trying to hash out some other issues. Now that the game is fairly well stable at this point. It means John can finally start getting some major updates out.

Breeding would either be a minor update. Something similar to that of the buddy system, or it would go along with Legendary Pokemon. The reason breeding would work well as either is because for one easter is around the corner which just so happens to be about eggs. Legendary Pokemon are widely believed to be hatched from eggs. Either way, both deal with eggs and so does breeding.

Another thing that could happen is breeding could be a part of the third generation. Mostly because, well, two more baby Pokemon are made available. Could it be possible we will start seeing more Pokemon in about another 8 months? It took generation 2 8 months before it was released…

Not only were new Pokemon released 8 months after Pokemon Go’s airing. There weren’t very many new Pokemon added to the game. 100 new Pokemon to be exact. It’s 51 less from the first generation. However, there were only another 103 Pokemon added in the third generation.

If this is conclusive than we should expect new Pokemon every 8 months up until Niantic catch up with the Pokemon Company, which there should be a few more generations after Sun and Moon before Pokemon GO catches up.

What do you think? Is 8 months a good time for new Pokemon?
